An outcast (also known as an unpopular person, a reject, or a social reject), is a person who is rejected, and sometimes isolated, by society in general.

If literally, directly- translated into norwgian the word outcast, in norwegian utkast (- well the proper translation of the word would be utskudd, but in this case we focus on the direct translated pronunciation of the word, haha if that is something you can say! )
Utkast in norwegian means draft or sketch.
Before this gets too confusing I will get to the point, - in march 2010 a few girls got a cheap studio in a shoppingmall, they got the studio for 4 months +-. Finally they got a place to work.
The catch? they have to sell something and have opening hours.
the utkAst designproject 2010 is born. A draft for dreams!
So from now and till medio august/september you can visit the studio and indulge in some beautiful art made by local artists - and with reasonable prices. The opening hours vary a fair bit, but the regular ones are tuesdays and thursdays from 17.00-20.00 and wednesdays from 12.00-20.00.
Two of the artists are Ingrid Holand and Randi Antonsen - there are at the moment about 5 artists who exhitit their work at the studio/gallery.
Take a look at the website for more information - www.utkast.no
(btw.unforunately not all the content on the website is translated into english)
have a blast!
